I would introduce legislation to legalize marijuana in all aspects and to decriminalize other drug use. We have laws that reasonings that are both disastrous and hypocritical. We all drugs like alcohol and tobacco, which the public is aware that is harmful to the user both short and long term yet we criminalize a drug that has proven to have medical benefits.

I would seek to reduce the number of incarcerated persons in this state by releasing those who have done no damage to persons or property. “We have waged a so called “war on drugs” and a “war on crime” yet that has only brought more crime and more drugs. Maybe we should start a “war on money and jobs”

While I believe all citizens should have access to health care, no one has a right to the services of another without paying for it. State regulations requiring strict community ratings have driven out all but two or three health insurers.  While there are people who cannot afford private healthcare, an option is infinitely better than a single payer, in which everyone is forced to be part of. We have real issues with rising healthcare cost, lack of healthcare provider options, that has caused premiums to be raised. We must do something and a single payer is not the way. “We care bleeding our arm to save the leg and wondering why the body isn’t getting any healthier”

I would seek to offer school choice to all, with money following the student to any public, private, religious or charter school of their choosing. We must also give our students and graduates a place to hone their skills and to acquire skills that are meaningful in the workplace. We continue to educate our kids but then do not supply them with the job for them to grow and so they leave for other bigger, better areas. This we cannot continue to do.

For too long we have been creating solutions to a problem that did not exist and wondering why people are getting upset and annoyed. A specific example of this is any gun control legislation. We are one of the safest states in the country and one with the least restrictive gun regulations. There is a saying,” if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” yet somehow we have gotten to “if it ain’t broke, fix it till it is”

I would work to find regulations that could be removed without materially affecting property or persons, making a less restrictive business and personal freedom environment. People should have the freedom to do as they please as long as it does not adversely affect other people. People should also be held accountable for their actions.
